Early this year, Sapulut Forest Development Sdn Bhd has successfully renewed its Natural Forest Management certification after fulfilling the requirements under the Malaysian Criteria and Indicators for Sustainable Forest Management (MC&I SFM).
Conducted by Sirim QAS International Sdn Bhd, the re-certification audit process met several challenges due to the Covid 19 pandemic such as movement control order (MCO), logistical and quarantine requirements, lockdowns, and inter-district travel restrictions. Both parties had to endure these obstacles in pursuing a higher cause, sustainable forest management.
With this, the certification of Natural Forest Management (NFM) is renewed for 5 more years (2021 to 2026)
