On 3rd September 2020, our architect and structural engineer, Neil Mashor and John Lai respectively, met with the Fire Department (Jabatan Bomba Sabah) to discuss the Department’s rules and regulations for the construction of a 2-storey detached, CLT house. They advised that they have no objection for the construction of the detached CLT Model house, provided that it conforms to the 9th Schedule of the Uniform Building By-Laws.
We will manufacture our CLT panels from our planted species Albizia and Laran, Jabatan Bomba also asked for wood properties of the timber.
They are very supportive and eager for the adoption of CLT for Sabah as it conforms to the Industrialized building system (IBS) method of construction.
