Professor Dr Zakiah Ahmad, Director of the Institute for Infrastructure Engineering & Sustainable Management (IIESM) at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Universiti Teknologi MARA, and Dr Norsharbiza Mohamad Bhkari, visited our fabricator in Keningau to check on the CLT panels for testing at their facility. Professor Dr Zakiah is also the Chairperson of the Technical Committee for Timber Structures under the Department of Standards Malaysia.
They had test our CLT panels made of albizia and laran species for bending, compression, shearing, bonding, density, and bulking. All the samples satisfy the panels. The data will be part of the input for the development of a Malaysian Standard for CLT.
